The Story Behind the Book:
Created to Relate was born out of my own personal process of God revealing to me how I had been stuck in legalism for years. He exposed one lie at a time and showed me the Pharisee mindsets that had lingered in my life for so long. Writing this book was part of God's grace and healing.
He led me out of this wilderness and brought me into a personal, life-giving relationship with Him. He didn't just lead me out; He gave me next steps and a way to live in this beautiful relationship every day of my life, and that is what I want to share with you!

Testimonials
“Your life as a Christian shouldn’t feel like a to-do list.” Oh goodness, that right there is why you need to read this book and discover that you, too, were created for a relationship with God.
Some of my fave quotes so far:
“This residual mess inside my heart left me feeling as though I were never good enough.”
“The problem with lies and weeds is that sometimes we don’t even know they exist.”
And those feelings can go away once you say yes to God and allow him to work on you. You’ll so appreciate the steps shared to move forward with a heart that’s transformed by God. Don’t miss it!

Created to Relate is a much-needed breath of fresh air for anyone ready to break free from religious mindsets and discover all that awaits them in a deeper relationship with Christ. If all the “dos and don’ts” of religion have left you disillusioned, you’ll love this book’s focus on the beauty of relationship.

What does “legalism” mean?
A friend who is curious about religion asked me this question not too long ago. Our conversation made me think about how legalism is just a dressed-up sin. It’s still a prison. It’s still an idol. And it can’t take the place of a relationship with Jesus.
Desiree's book covers all this and more. Legalism burdens us, but a relationship with Jesus and a life modeled after His—that’s freedom. She shares how legalism showed up in her own life and how she learned to stop seeing herself through the eyes of others and start seeing herself through the eyes of God.
This beautiful book is full of personal stories, Scripture, and encouragement. If you’ve been jilted by religion and are fed up with legalism, Des will help you find your way to the One who really matters.
